Evidence to Complement Your Clinical Judgment
ASD Insight™ gives diagnosticians an objective biology-based piece of evidence to support their clinical judgment. This early risk assessment measures cellular behaviors associated with autism.

A Tool to Help Escalate Diagnosis
A positive M-CHAT at an 18- or 24-month well-child visit sends a family your way, and then many of them wait. Centers across the country report evaluation wait times exceeding six months.
ASD Insight gives you a data point to help you triage the children on your waitlist. Results come back in four to six weeks.
An Objective Cellular-Level Signal
Diagnosticians tell us the same thing: a child’s presentation on the day of an evaluation can vary. That variability is hardest to work around in very young children and in borderline or complex cases. Families feel it too, which is part of why second-opinion requests are so common. For a second or third opinion, you will still administer an ADOS-2 — ASD Insight adds a piece of supporting evidence that differentiates your evaluation from your peers’.

What ASD Insight Is
ASD Insight is an autism risk assessment test. It measures a biophysical marker — a pattern of calcium signaling in skin cells — associated with autism risk, rather than analyzing DNA. Results are reported as “Elevated Autism Risk Detected” or “Elevated Autism Risk Not Detected.” A detected signal may indicate the need for closer developmental monitoring and further clinical evaluation.
An ASD Indicator Backed by Decades of Neuroscience
Nearly every tool available today infers autism risk from observed behavior. That means these tools are typically unable to provide a validated diagnosis before behavioral symptoms emerge, around 18 to 24 months of age. ASD Insight solves this problem: it measures how cells respond and communicate, not how a child behaves.
Research led by John J. Gargus, MD, PhD, NeuroQure’s Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, found that calcium signaling behaves differently in the skin fibroblast cells of people with autism. That difference is measurable from birth, independent of behavior.

What ASD Insight Measures
Gate Opens & Stays Open
Calcium flows freely and steadily, supporting normal cellular signaling.
Gate Flickers & Closes
Calcium release is brief and interrupted — measurable from a skin sample at birth.
Ordering Takes Minutes.
Your Process Stays the Same.
You order ASD Insight the way you already order any other lab test. There is no equipment to stock, no procedure to learn, and no change to how you run evaluations. There is no cost to your practice.
NeuroQure manages the rest end to end — scheduling sample collection, handling logistics, and collecting payment directly from the family — so ordering the test does not add administrative work for your staff.
Register and order
Create your provider profile and order the test directly through the NeuroQure portal.
Sample collected*
The test involves a skin sample collection. Physicians can perform the skin sample in office, or our at-home nursing partner can handle it on the family’s schedule.
Results in 4–6 weeks
Results are delivered in your secure online portal, with neurodevelopmental counselors available to help families understand the difference between risk and diagnosis.
*Note to physicians:
Diagnosticians who are physicians and comfortable performing a 3mm punch biopsy can collect the sample directly. We will ship the sample collection materials to you with information on how to return the shipment through FedEx.
Held to Clinical-Grade Standards
ASD Insight is grounded in UCI CART-affiliated research and developed under the direction of Dr. Jay Gargus. Testing is conducted in a CLIA-certified lab, with the same quality standards applied across every sample.
